Veronica Westergård is a Kenyan born, who moved to Finland in 2001 for higher level studies. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2005 and later pursued her master’s degree in Health Sciences in 2018. However, having been working in healthcare field since 2005, Veronica has always had a dream to bring unique creations made in Africa to the international market.
Veronica first co-founded sunglasses brand Shadeshares, out of a desire to create a unique blend of Finnish design and Kenyan craftsmanship. She had the vision of also promoting sustainable design, creating all products as responsibly as possible, she researched on refining the whole process, founding the idea of being respectful to the planet as well as creating job opportunities/revenue avenues to young adults in Kenya and Finland. She established her own company as Cimax, born from the initials of Veronica’s beloved children, a name that carries the love, strength and legacy of family at its core.
Now, all Cimax products are made using high-quality, environmentally friendly materials such as recycled wood. By buying any of Veronica’s creations, you support sustainable development. With your purchase, you help create carbon sinks, as for every sale of Cimax sunglasses, we plant a tree. These trees are planted in reliable institutions such as schools and churches in Kenya.
Veronica recently added various brand new brass jewellery designs to her selections, beautifully crafted to add flair and elegance while supporting underprivileged artisans and promoting sustainability.
In addition to our website, you can find Cimax collections at Mall & Mall stores in Tampere Koskikeskus | (Maps) and Ideapark Lempäälä | (Maps).
